Warda — our little fighter.
Some of the most special stories at Akal Farm are the ones that remind us how much care and companionship can change a life.
Warda arrived in the world facing a difficult start. After losing her mother when she was only around a month old, she needed someone to look after her. With love, bottle-feeding and help from the local community, she grew stronger day by day.
Today, Warda has found her home at Akal Farm. She is part of our growing animal family, surrounded by her donkey companions and Shehab, her big horse brother.
Chapter one
A difficult beginning
Warda was only about a month old when she lost her mother. Zaid found her and took responsibility for caring for the tiny foal, with support from people in the local community.
She needed patience, attention and plenty of care. She was bottle-fed and looked after as she gradually grew stronger and healthier.
One day at a time, this little foal began to find her feet.
Chapter two
A little fighter
As Warda grew, she became part of everyday life at Sunset Ranch. Zaid spent time with her, and a special bond developed between them. They played together, and their friendship became an important part of her early life.
Warda also began forming friendships with the other horses around her. Little by little, the fragile foal who had needed so much care became a confident young horse with a place among her companions.
Chapter three
A new chapter at Akal Farm
When Warda was older and healthier, Zaid helped find her a new home at Akal Farm.
It was the beginning of another chapter in her story: a new place to call home, new friends to get to know and a different rhythm of life in the Moroccan countryside.
Chapter four
Part of the Akal family
Today, Warda lives at Akal Farm with her donkey friends and Shehab, her big horse brother.
She is part of the wider family that makes the farm such a special place. Her story connects the people who cared for her at the beginning with the home she has found here.
We are very happy that Warda is part of life at Akal, and we look forward to sharing a little of her story with the people who visit us.
